Brush of Carnage
Genre: Mystery/Investigative
System: Any PC (Any being American and Japanese)
Price: 48,00 yen (Around 46 dollars)
Company: Marine
I do not recommend this game to anyone who speaks English as their only language. Not only is Brush of Carnage way to hard for a third year Japanese student. A normal English speaker would be crying themselves to bed at night after 1 hour of this game.
Brush of Carnage has an extremely interesting plot (Actually not really). A writer who's desperate for inspiration lures young boys into his mansion where he then precedes to commit various sex acts to inspire himself. Although this makes for some interesting scenarios there are some major roadblocks in the way.
The first is the overwhelming amount of kanji. Everything from menus to simple phrases are written in Kanji. It makes it almost impossible to navigate without trouble. These also aren't easily read kanji, their written in the calligraphy style which makes them somewhat harder to decipher if you already know some kanji.

Like Memory of the Forest this game requires you to visit rooms talk to certain people and use items. Although this wouldn't be a challenge in one's own language Brush of Carnage has gone to extra lengths to make it near impossible.
I have played this game for more than six weeks. It's also one of the reasons I have been so slow to update/finish this page. No matter how hard I try I cannot figure out the "flow" of the game, and often end up going in circles.
On a brighter note, if someone did want to attempt to play, the art is nice. Although the characters tend to be a little bit weird looking at times. As for the sex scenes, I've gotten a total of 3, so there's not much I can say.
Hopefully after spending another six weeks on this game I'll be able to write a bit more and give a full review.
